Incident #9

Election Day. The PPP driver apparently voted "no" on Proposition "Parking-Close-to-the-Curb."

"No time to straighten out... I've got to vote!"

Incident #8

When I see things like this, my mind constructs elaborate scenarios to try to explain what's going on. Did the driver race home from work because a neighbor reported a fire in their apartment? Did en elderly relative activate their LifeAlert? Did the car's battery die just as the driver was about to park?

This car is parked, you understand?

Don't believe me? Look closely. There's no driver!

"Excuse me, sir? When does the ferry come to take me to the mainland?"

OK, to be fair, that's a pretty tight spot to squeeze into.

Incident #7

Night time. The hilarious part about this incident is the almost complete lack of cars on the street.

How does this not get a ticket?!

That's pretty much half a car length away from the curb.

Incident #6

Awoke this morning to the sun shining, the birds singing, and the Prius parked even more poorly than ever before. Some days just start out perfectly.

How far would you say those tires are from the curb? Two feet? More?

There's a properly-parked car in front of you! It's there for guidance! Use it!

Peek-a-boo!

This car is PARKED. Not "PARKING." PARKED.

Incident #5

A few days passed. No poorly parked Prius. I was despondent.

Then, one afternoon, rejoice! The Prius was back. Parked as poorly as ever. Behold:

Maybe they drive with their eyes closed.

How does this car not get hit by passing motorists?

When you can barely tell there's even a car there, maybe that's a bad sign.

You know who should be pissed? The people who have to use that driveway.

Incident #4

I came home from work one afternoon to find my wife away and the PPP outside our building. Hastily, I snapped these pics with my crappy camera phone.

At least the car is actually parallel to the curb here. Three feet away, but parallel nonetheless. Hey, baby steps.

Shouldn't Toyota install some sort of alarm or warning ding for situations like this? "Ding! You're parked in the middle of the street."

Incident #3

Night time again. Who knows; maybe the driver was tired when they parked. Or unconscious.

Trust me, there's a car back there.

See? Told you.

Incident #2

Night time again. It's good to know that the owner of the PPP does not discriminate between night and day. They will park poorly any damn time they please.

You could fit a baby between the Prius and the curb.

"Am I close? No? Ok."

Incident #1

Garbage day in LA. I'd love to ask the trash collectors what they think when they see the PPP.

Look at how the wheels are angled. Was the Prius parallel parked? Was the blue recycle bin already there or placed there after the Prius was parked?

On second thought, there's no way the blue bin was already there. The degree of parking difficulty would have been off the charts.

If you're driving down the street, do you hit the brakes, assuming the Prius MUST be pulling out into traffic?
